Cedar Run begins as an underground stream, making its way through Cumberland County and coming to the surface in the area of Wesley Drive in Mechanicsburg. From there, Cedar Run flows through commercial, industrial, and residential areas of Lower Allen Township where it eventually empties into the Yellow Breeches Creek. The Yellow Breeches Creek is a tributary of the Susquehanna River which flows into the Chesapeake Bay.
History of Cedar Run:
Cedar Run Watershed encompasses 7 different municipalities and traverses many miles of urban, commercial, residential, and industrial properties. The link below is the Act 167 Stormwater Management Plan for the Cedar Run. While this was published a few years ago, the information is still relevant although the residential development has increased in some of the municipalities.
